Through Neighborhoods - Habits

There's a lot to be said about Passion in the DIY music scene. Devotion, Dedication, Commitment, seeing hard working artist fight tooth and nail and come out on top with incredible work to show for it. In 2016 creativity began to brew and a dream was born. In 2018, we have the final product of literal blood, sweat, and tears. Habits, from Through Neighborhoods. Through Neighborhoods is in every sense raw, as raw as Philly Emo can get. Habits Hits you forcefully and with a sense of righteous angst that siphons a roller coaster of emotions ranging from uplifting sadness to inspiring anger. Habits is powerful, in so many aspects. There's a general sense of harsh reality behind the songs of Habit, each track comes across as an uncomfortable conversation with a good friend in your campus housing parking lot at 1 A.M. on a Saturday Night after a heated drunk argument about Nostalgic Idealizations and Pessimistic expectations for the lives you have before you. With that being said, there's a heavy mature aura with Habit. Through Neighborhoods throws sharp rocks in your face in the form of defined tones and smooth riffs yet knows when to comfort you and tell you it's probably going to be okay in the form of softer melodies and dream like drum grooves. Habits reaches every possible sense in the harshest and softest ways at the perfect times, such a feat that's a giveaway that so much pain and passion went into it's production. There's a lot more to say about Habits, stories within it's lyrics and pictures told within it's instrumentals. The lengthy production gave the talent within Through Neighborhoods time to experiment with tracks more than most artist have. It allowed them to mold each song to be the experience it needed to be in order to truly reach it's listeners. And it worked, every second put into this release shows, every bit of whatever behind the scenes drama or struggle or doubt that occurred shaped Habits into one of the best Philly-DIY Albums of 2018, and the best Philly-DIY Album we at Polaris have heard in such a long time. Habits Released on August 24th and is Available on Bandcamp with a Name Your Price tag. We also highly recommend dropping by Through Neighborhoods Facebook page and leaving them a heart warming review along with a like and possible a share.
