Something we don't often express here is our love and knowledge of House music and it's respective sub-genres. We can't help but put notable releases on the spot here at Polaris and Bells And Whistles from Philly Artist TransHumanist is certainly a release to take into consideration when talking about best independent electronic releases of the DIY scene in 2018. Bells and Whistles presents us with atmosphere off the bat. We're exposed to auditory landscapes crafted in the style of Nostalgic Composers like Stephen Root and Darren Mitchell. There's a story being told behind every measure and it's crystal clear while still remaining vague and mysterious. Each track feels like a different scene from an 80s Science Fiction Dystopian Film or the next level in a 90s Playstation Europeaon RPG. While that might not come across clear over text, those who understand the impact of such old soundtracks will understand how soothing and captivating Bells and Whistles as an experience is. The experience is so foreign but so close to home, comforting and so intentional with the construction of imaginary landscapes through the music. There's so much to say about Bells and Whistles. It's been a daily repeated listen here at Polaris DIY HQ. We love it, honestly love it and are beyond happy we had the chance to start Polaris to come across amazing releases like this that ourselves and our readers would otherwise not have gotten a chance to hear.
