"Growing Pains" - With Tiny Blue Ghost, a discussion on song writing.

Released early this month, Growing Pains is a record two years in the making and that truly shows. Tiny Blue Ghost's demonstrates a level of dedication and passion from opening to close with their incredible record. Growing Pains is an emotional and at most times peaceful day dream that's bound to become a favorite among many. Out of all the general themes of "Growing Pains" (Growing up, Mental Health, Relationships, ect) the most deep cutting feeling of Nostalgia rings with each and every track. These songs do honestly feel like they come from the heart both lyrically and instrumentally. While this stands out as one of the best vocal performances of the year (in our opinion) it's absolutely worth mentioning that the instrumentals are in many ways progressive and dynamic and give animated life to the fantastic lyrics and stunning vocal tracks. Tone wise, there's a lot of Bedroom pop influence in the instrumental as well as vocal tracking. This could very well be passed off as a true to core DIY record despite having years of production behind it. Tracks like Pillow Talk and Supernova stand out as must listens off "Growing Pains" for various reasons, however what makes them stand out the most is the absolute perfection of composition and theme. The two tracks stand out on a record filled with incredibly well composed tracks and that honestly does mean something so I'm going to take a minute or two to explain why this record is so important and needs to be a bigger deal. Growing Pains does something a lot of releases don't do, and that's simplicity. As I said earlier, there is an aura of Nostalgia about this record, a thin veil of mystery and a heavy influence of DIY records of the past. This record as a whole can easily be played in track order and without a doubt is one of the best examples of writing a release IN track order. Every single track flows into the next perfectly, be it lyrically, tonally, composition, or in some causes even the track titles being almost intentional phrasing. There's so much passion behind the song writing here that it needs to be shared and needs to be listened too. There are powerful things being said and just as powerful music behind it. You can check out Growing Pains now on Bandcamp, as well as show your love and support for Tiny Blue ghost. As we've said, there's a lot going on with this record and every ounce of it is positive and support here is insanely encouraged.
