We're going to dedicate our first review back to a band that we believe released one of the best screamo Eps of the year. Philadelphia four piece screamo group Haz Lo Correcto blessed us with Fata Morgana earlier this year. An Ep that truly captures the grime and rust of the Philadelphia Screamo scene. Let's waste no time getting into the most raw screamo release of the year. Fata Morgana is a brief trip clocking in at about 12 minutes spread throughout five tracks, however, the unique styling of Haz Lo Correcto adds such a thick flavor to every passing second of each individual track. We're welcomed in by "Diatomaceous Earth (Flea Shredder)", a very quick to the draw track, which slows down to end in an almost grindcore closure that swims perfectly into the next track's feel and overall tonality. It's without saying that song structure is on such great display throughout the entire ep, there isn't a moment that shies away from taking advantage of bass hooks and aggressive grooves. It's a smooth listen, even for those who wouldn't consider Screamo something to be seen as "smooth". The sharp vocals and almost psychedelic tones alone are enough to claim that Fata Morgana is a release that will continue to grow as more people share and discover. Fata Morgana is without a doubt, a must listen. With such beautiful detail in every aspect of the tracks, Haz Lo Correcto gifted us one of the most well crafted Screamo Releases in a good long time.
