Philadelphia PA is becoming home to many Grindcore / Power violence groups, and among them "BANDIT" stands on top. On July 30th, the band released their newest Studio Record "Self Inflicted" and quickly raked in the Downloads, becoming one of the top Grindcore bands on Bandcamp within a day of the release. So, we're going to take a look at what makes Self Inflicted a Grindcore Masterpiece. First, it should be mentioned that Self Inflicted is incredible short, which ends up being the only downside to picking up the record, however I shouldn't be a problem since this record should introduce listeners to BANDIT's other works. Self Inflicted is a burst of anger, discovery, and emotion. Everything about this record screams grind, from the gritting guitar tones to the hollow blast beats, right down to the harsh vocals. It's a record every one who caters towards heavier music should bounce on. Tracks like "Still Walking" and "Berkut" stood out the most after a few dozen listens. "Still Walking" not only captures everything I've grown to love about Hardcore music, but also secured my Fandom with BANDIT. It should also be noted, that despite the tracks being very short, they allow follow a deep groove and flow into each other perfectly, giving the record a great time for people who plan on throwing into a shuffle/mixtape sort of playlist. Again, this record is a must listen. A Grindcore-Masterpiece and most own for anyone who considered themselves a fan of heavy music.
