A good while ago we reviewed a record from a little band called Elephant Jake. Since that review, we've had the honor of watching the band grow with incredibly deserved success and respect in the DIY scene. After quickly becoming one of our favorite bands, they announced their second major release "Classic", scheduled for released on March 17th. We've been honored with getting an early copy of the record to review and we're happy to say we are more than impressed with how dynamic and fun "Classic" is! One thing that makes Elephant Jake stand out above every other band in the scene is their on stage energy. Unmatched fun and excitement for every second of their entire set, the band has an amazing ability of making everyone in the venue feel like their best friend. The band's newest release "Classic" absolutely captures that fun and style of stage presence. The opening track "Everytime" is an establishment of form, an exciting built up jam that demonstrates great improvement from their first record right off the bat. The track leads into (arguably) the bands most energetic track, "Sebastian Bauer", a high voltage yet perfectly structured song that ensures your participation in the rest of the album. What I personally love about the record is how every track has the same level of passion and emotion behind it. There's maturity and expression in every lyric and composition. It's such an outstanding composition throughout the entire release. The best way to describe "Classic" would be to compare it to great modern action movies. When there's nothing exciting or no real action going on, it doesn't slow down enough to drop interest. Every Track has something worth staying tuned in for, there's so much diversity and must hear moments in every track of "Classic" that it's so crazy to think this is Elephant Jake's second release. It's a record that really captures the thrill filled personalities of the band's on stage persona's. It's a record that I feel like everyone should listen too! Again, I highly recommend you anticipate "Classic", releasing through Wreck It Records on March 17th, 2017.
