Starting off 2017 with a review of on of our favorite band discoveries of 2016! The Philly based Math-Rock Duo let loose their first release June of last year, and since then they've taken off gaining a following and putting on one incredible performance after another. "This is Going Nowhere Fast" is a fantastic display of young talent with tracks that range not only dynamically in tone and instrumentals, but tracks that have a presence of raw passion and experience to them. With heavy hints of Brand New and splashes of math along the lines of Tera Melos, Twin Sister expressions heavy angst, the good kind, and carries a seemingly as heavy emotional drive. What sticks out the most about Twin Sister is their incredible clear but still Lofi sound. It creates a sort of retro/throwback style that's very reminiscent of something you'd hear off old mixtapes or demo tapes but with a more diverse and modern touch. The biggest take away from this album is how with incredible passion, talent, and determination, great things are possible regardless of limitations or experience. Twin Sister delivered incredibly and it only makes us and many others greatly anticipate their first full length release later this year. Track after Track, "This is Going Nowhere Fast" successfully lures and keeps the listener intrigued , with almost dream like qualities to instrumentals and the lofi aggression of the vocals. It's a must have and must listen for anyone who's a fan of the DIY/Lofi scene, and we fully recommend it to all of our followers. If you wanna check our Twin Sister, you can follow them on Facebook and bandcamp, and if you like what you read here and want to see more, check us out on Facebook and don't forget to like, share, and comment!
