Nowadays is one of my favorite up and coming bands, incredible young and more potential than most bands their age display. Their debut EP, Sleep Outside, is a pleasant and relaxing trip that stays enjoyable and soothing through it's entirety. Nowadays Sleep Outside gives off the same laid back attitude of Weezer while being forward with some classic party rock tones and soft vocals of bands like Marietta. Each track has a quality that represents the tone and themes of the music, very lofi and very downing, however the moods are all propelled by the vocalist low tones and the addictive shoegaze like melodies of the guitars. The bass lines and Drum segments are combined perfectly, giving every song a mathy groove and ultimately makes listening to them more enjoyable.
Sleep Outside is an incredibly debut EP from a band that has incredible potential to go on and do great things. Every member of the band stands out, and every song shows that perfectly. Bands like Nowadays are outstanding proof that there will always be passion in the youth to contribute to "dying" scenes.
