First off, let me get this out of the way. "Hanky Panky" by Miss This has the best cover art of the year(designed by @Michael_Lonchar), hands down no argument. Luckily, this is a case where judging a book...or record...by it's cover absolutely works. Miss This progresses so many levels uniqueness and energy, each track standing out and not a single one not entertaining the listener. I'll be completely honest, Funk-Rock and Disco are not my thing, at all. But Miss This manage to take the genres and add such an incredibly high aggression that reflects what keeps me coming back to most Ska/Swing records. "Hanky Panky" is the indie counter argument to the existence of RHCP, but so much more. It's so easy to get lost in the each instrument and the lyrics that it honestly took me about six listens to really get a hold of everything. The incredible Vocal style, the NY Rush style Sax, the smooth beats, the pure groove bass, it's all so blissful but so alive. "Hanky Panky" became one of my favorite records of the year for one reason, uniqueness. I haven't heard a single record this year that's as energized, rare, and groovy. "Hanky Panky" is a must listen for anyone who's feeling like they need something fresh and stimulating. You can check out Miss This on bandcamp and check them out in N.Philly with our friends Elephant Jake and Chris Bernstorf, and you can find the upcoming review list for Polaris DIY on our facebook page! https://missthisofficial.bandcamp.com/album/hanky-panky https://www.facebook.com/PolarisDIY
