Elaine Rasnake - Breathe Again
May 22, 2018
There's nothing better than making a hot cup of tea or coffee, sitting next to a loved one, and enjoying a rainy night with some netflix or board games. Here at Polaris, we don't think there's a better release that represents that sensation than Breathe Again by the incredible Elaine Rasnake. Breathe Again gifts listeners with high energy yet soft beats that're as exciting as they are relaxing. The entire release is soothing and there's only so much we can say about it here. So, pull up a comfy beanbag chair and see what we have to say about Breathe Again!
Breathe Again perfectly displays our favorite trait among artist, which is the ability to transpose emotion and sensation into music. Breathe Again makes us feel warm, safe, comfortable, and in some ways nostalgic. It's very easy to get lost in the hypnotic aura created by every track. We'll be honest, it was hard writing this review because we kept getting caught up in the music. It's actually quite spooky, It's been a very long time since we all so easily got lost in submitted music here at Polaris. If anything, that's an absolute clear sign to not only hop on the hype train with Breathe Again, but to point out that this is probably the easiest album to fall asleep to that we've ever reviewed which is such a notable point because there's honestly so much energy to Breathe Again.
As we write this review, cold Philly Rain pours down. It couldn't be any more fitting to the tone and bearing that Elaine Rasnake captured with Breathe Again. This isn't only one of the best pieces we've reviewed but probably one of our favorite pieces of the year. It's beautiful, blissful, dynamic, and overall worth the hundreds of listens you'll put into it.
