A Day Without Love is an Indie/Emo collaboration fronted by the incredibly talented Brian Walker. Located in Philadelphia, A Day Without Love delivers emotionally driver music that'll make even the most emotionless folks feel something. Solace is the most recent record put out by A Day Without Love, a beautiful and stunning 13 track drive down a dark and touchy road. There isn't a single track on this record that doesn't make you feel something, and to us at Polaris that's everything we look for in an artist. The most powerful thing an artist can do is make someone feel, and the entirety of Solace did that for us.
Engineered and Mixed by Jake Detwiler at Fresh Produce Studios and Mastered by Scott Stitzer at Stolen Studios, Solace is an incredible clear sounding record. Every tone comes across incredibly well. The heavy bass doesn't overpower the guitars, and drums drive hard in the back of the line, and everything just sounds in all honesty majestic. As someone who personally loves the Lofi/DIY sound, I found myself in love with the quality of Solace. The overall tone of the music is very much like that of bands like This Town Needs Guns and American Football, Math-Rockish while presenting a very Emo front.
Solace is one of our favorite releases of the year, it resonates with everything we're about. A record that promotes love and progression and gets the point across dramatically without being politically correct or incredibly over the top. This is a powerful record, every track has the potential to break you down and make you feel.
